INTRODUCING ALL THE THINGS, A NEW CONTENT STUDIO LED BY JONPAUL DOUGLASS
What's All the Things? Think of it as a mini creative studio designed to provide 360-degree content creation with Jonpaul Douglass' signature style: clever, impeccably designed, and neatly balanced on the line between sophisticated and approachable. All the Things can conceptualize, creative direct, shoot, and direct.
As All the Things' creative director, Jonpaul leads a team of trusted collaborators, including photographers, stylists, DPs, and set builders. He can shoot a project himself, or he can direct a second shooter to work as his proxy, tapping into a small but mighty network of photographers and directors who have proven they can execute his vision under his guidance and creative direction.
Jonpaul "gives the logical and the absurd space to romp in images that narrate and free-associate, playing with the conceptual and the concrete within a palette that leaps from tart hard-candy hues to subtle tone-on-tones," notes Communication Arts. "It all basks in a dazzling high-noon glare." (Read the full article here.)
CASE STUDIES
BUSH'S BEANS
Carmichael Lynch needed some fun assets for a summer bean campaign. Given a relatively open brief, we were able to experiment creatively.
KRAFT, "MAYO, NO MAYO"
When Kraft came to us asking for Valentine’s content with a smile, we designed an uncomplicated but beautiful set that had just enough texture while still letting the mayonnaise humor shine.
MAILCHIMP
To promote Mailchimp’s new marketing products, the team there commissioned us to create visuals for a fictional fitness brand. Over four days with two crew members, we captured a mix of lifestyle, tabletop, and urban landscapes, all in a fun and light fitness world.
SMART
Automotive brand Smart needed assets for various social campaigns based on specific models of the Smart car. With a simple brief from Razorfish, we took various Smart cars all around LA, creating as we went along. Staying small, we were able to produce car photography that was playful—very much in line with the Smart brand perspective.
NBC
NBC needed content assets to share on various social media channels. With a very slim budget, we planned ahead with simple ideas that helped make for fun moments with the talent.
KRYLON, "THIS CAN IS ALL THAT"
Krylon needed video assets showcasing the features of their spray paint on various home projects. They specified that the videos needed to work as both short clips and combined into a whole.
POSTMATES, "WE GET IT"
Postmates wanted food photos for their social media, but not boring ones. We worked directly with the Postmates team to create a unique image library that could help set the tone for where the brand was headed. We sourced many classic cars and shot a majority of this campaign literally on the streets of LA. The imagery was utilized in a number of ways, including large prints covering the walls of Postmates headquarters to airing in a broadcast spot during the 2019 Oscars.
CORKCICLE
Corkcicle (“We make things that cool. We make cool things.”) needed “cool” assets for both social and their catalog. We shot a mixture of lifestyle and product photography, as well as simple video assets, for their line of canteens and cooler bags.
