MYLES LOFTIN IS NOMINATED FOR DAZED 100 2021!

Dazed 100 is a global celebration of next-gen names leading change in their communities and across their fields.

Dazed writes, "Myles Loftin understands the urgency of visibility. “We look to the media for ideas of what our future can be,” the photographer and director explains on his website. “And if you don’t see yourself represented, it’s very hard for you to imagine a future for yourself.”

As a queer Black man, the driving principle and inspiration behind his work is to redress gaps in representation and to advocate for under and misrepresented groups. Loftin’s vibrant, engaging portraits are underwritten with his desire to redefine the wider perceptions of his community. Accordingly, he’s drawn to making photographs that depict a multiplicity of queer Black identities and that contribute to the inclusion of the queer Black experience within visual culture.

Having already achieved a place on the 2020 Forbes 30 Under 30 list, the Brooklyn-based image-maker has also brought his distinct vision to huge global brands, working with the likes of Calvin Klein, Converse, GCDS, Nike and Under Armour on ad campaigns. The accomplished photographer has also contributed to editorials in magazines such as Garagei-D, and The Fader. With all that under his belt at just 23 years old, his trajectory looks set to rise and rise.
