DAVID BLACK CAPTURES STILLS AND MOTION FOR LONGINES' NEW COLLAB WITH YVY

Two luxury brands (preeminent watch maker Longines and premium fashion label YVY, which specializes in fine leather goods), one high-end collection, and an artist skilled at creating enigmatic, atmospheric short films—combine those elements, and you get this stunning 60-second spot directed by David Black for Paris-based creative agency Bang Bang.

The agency wanted to nod to Longines’ equestrian heritage while signaling to craftsmanship and precision. They wanted artful and elegant with a touch of wild escapism, that feeling of the beyond. David shot the human sequences in a pristine Paris studio and ventured to the Spanish badlands—specifically, Bardenas Reales, a Biosphere Reserve in Basque Country—to capture the horse footage. To compose the score, he enlisted the band Dallas Acid, who happen to be longtime friends of his.

It’s a commercial for exquisite watch bands, but it’s really so much more.
