“I called this series ‘Lost Frames’ because I get busy or lazy (or both) and end up forgetting that these pictures are sitting in my little digital point-and-shoot camera,” says João. “I go off on a trip and there the images remain in its memory—neglected and forgotten. There’s not much to them but just the pure joy of documenting my life and my family and what’s going on around me. There’s something so nice in being able to use an easy and fast camera, so I’m not bogged down by technical settings. It’s much more important to capture what’s happening in the moment.”
