"These photos span years of being with my family and friends," explains Marcus. "It’s an ongoing archive that helps us recall other memories: Whenever one of us sees an old photo, we always tell a story about something else that happened that day or someone who wasn’t in the frame. I look at these images as a jumping-off point for conversation, but also, being an artist, I can’t help but impose my vision in some way by doing things that might be a bit quirky, like shooting through a magnifying glass or fixing a GoPro to my son’s wagon."
