Deathcamp

By RJ Shaughnessy

This collection of photos from RJ Shaughnessy chronicles his life at the infamous Los Angeles art collective Deathcamp. In a quiet Los Angeles suburb, he shared residence with over a dozen characters from 2002 to 2006, capturing the energy and naivete of the misguided artisans. The images focus on beautiful moments of intimacy amongst roommates and the people they brought into each other's lives. Caught between youth and adulthood, his photos offer an honest portrayal of his subjects: fun as priority, wasted nights, and romantic pursuits.
