Chase

Marcus shot two image libraries for Chase, projects that were inspired by family photos he had posted on Instagram.

“A Chase art director saw some personal photos I posted,” Marcus explains. “The brief I initially received was to re-create the same look and feel of those images for Chase, for a campaign where they were looking to speak to the Black and Latinx communities about home ownership. The idea was to tell the story of the family in the home.”

Marcus collaborated with the creative team on defining what that meant: dancing in the living room, braiding hair on the porch, or playing “pretend” basketball in your bedroom.

Fast Facts

• two image libraries, each shot over a period of several days

• inspired by Marcus’ personal family photos

• four different homes in Chicago and Los Angeles

• 10 to 12 talent per library

“We continued the collaboration with another shoot that continued the same look, feel, and energy,” says Marcus. "We shot on location in Los Angeles and Chicago, covering five to six shots per day between two to three locations. The technical challenge was lighting each home in an interesting and bespoke way that helped tell the story of the family while at the same time giving the images a natural look, as if no light was being added at all.”
